Aloha! Today we’re traveling to Columbia. Ueeeeeeeeeeeeee!<\/span><\/p>\n

Well, well, Lutece twins we have!! People ask me very often what are my motivations to make a costume. I usually say a little of everything but in this particular case the design was not one of the reasons. I mainly made these costumes because I enjoyed Bioshock Infinite and I think they’re a fabulous and a really interesting couple. I don’t like their clothes, I think they’re pretty boring, but I love them so much that I just don’t care.<\/span><\/p>\n

I must say I was looking for costumes like these to learn how to make two-piece suits, so well, maybe that’s the design motivation I had. These kind of clothes have a very particular pattern. They’re so particular, that I didn’t had a clue how to make them. I luckily found this page<\/a> (sorry, guys, it’s in spanish) that explains how to make these kind of garments. It saved my life!!<\/span><\/p>\n

With this new knowledge, I made the patterns addapted to my measurements and my friend Cliff ones, who was going to be my Robert.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

As you can see, these kind of clothes have a special dart configuration and both the frot and the back part are together in one piece.<\/span><\/p>\n

I drew the patterns on the garment cloth and in the lining one. As always, as the lapels and the collar were going to be eventually visible, I added them to the lining part using the jacket cloth.<\/span><\/p>\n

I sewed everything together very carefully.<\/span><\/p>\n

I added the pocket lapels, buttons and stuff. I top stitched the edges and I ironed it. I have few pictures of the sleeves, I’m a bad person. I just have one picture where you can see the two part patter drawn on the lining fabric.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I made a regular skirt pattern for Rosalind with a long dart line to the feet to copy the original one. I also made a lining and I added a zipper in the side.<\/span><\/p>\n

Robert pants are the first ones I’ve ver made with flies and I’m very proud of it. Hope my friend Cliff appreciate it! I used a regular pattern, I coppied a pair of pants we had at home.<\/span><\/p>\n

I made the vests in a rush, so I’m sorry I don’t have more images.<\/span><\/p>\n

Both wigs are the same model but with different hairstyles. I styled the Rosalind one puting a hair curler inside the toup\u00e9e and the Robert one came out terribly wrong. It didn’t have too much hair on the back part and when I cut it, it was a mess. It’s not noticeable in pictures and they even gave us a prize in a contest. I feel embarrased every time I think about it.<\/span><\/p>\n

I seriously have to start thinking about buying lace front wigs to get more natural looks. I’m not happy with these.<\/span><\/p>\n

We bought shoes, matching ties and a couple blackboards that we joined with suspenders.<\/span><\/p>\n

We had a great time wearing these costumes. We made a little group with Th\u00e9lema Therion (Elizabeth) and Wolfenizer (Booker) and we took pictures in the Retiro Park (Madrid).<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
